At 4–5 feet height, these grafted plants are already well established and ready to take off quickly in your orchard, farmhouse or large garden.

Plant description

• Chakotra/Jambura (pomelo or giant grapefruit type) forms a medium to large evergreen citrus tree with glossy green leaves and fragrant white blossoms.

• A 4–5 feet plant is a strong, grafted sapling with a developed trunk and branches, ideal for potting in big drums/tubs or for direct field/bund plantation.

Fruit qualities & uses

• Fruits are very large, round to pear‑shaped, with thick rind and juicy, sweet‑tart segments inside, excellent for fresh eating, juice and salads.

• Local varieties are prized for their refreshing flavour, high vitamin C and use in traditional festive dishes and pickles.

Growing conditions & care

• Needs full sun (minimum 6 hours) and well‑drained, slightly acidic to neutral soil enriched with organic manure.

• Water regularly but avoid standing water; mulch the root zone to keep moisture and control weeds.

• Feed with citrus fertiliser or FYM + NPK 3–4 times a year to support strong growth and heavy fruiting.
