• Belongs to Citrus limetta (mosambi/sweet lime), typically forming a medium-sized, bushy evergreen tree with glossy green leaves and fragrant white blossoms.​​

• India Siki Malta plants are generally shorter and broader, making management, pruning and harvesting easier for home growers and small farmers.​​

Fruit qualities & uses

• Fruits are medium-sized, round to slightly flattened, with smooth yellow-green skin and very sweet, low-acid juice that remains pleasant even when stored a short time.​​

• Ideal for fresh juice, table use and value-added products; high juice content and sweetness give good market acceptance and returns.​​

Growing conditions & care

• Performs best in tropical to subtropical regions with full sun (6–8 hours) and well-drained sandy or loamy soil; avoid waterlogging to prevent root and collar rot.​​

• Water regularly, especially in the first 2–3 years and during fruit development; adopt efficient irrigation such as drip for commercial rows.​

• Feed with recommended citrus NPK doses and organic manure 3–4 times a year; maintain clean basins and apply plant-protection measures against common citrus pests and diseases.
